Dustin does a good job of looking at the Dodgers roster going in to the offseason. I’d agree that it’s going to look a bit different than the one that took the field for the World Series. I’d expect Machado, Dozier and Madsen to be on their way. Hopefully the return of a healthy Cory Seager offsets that somewhat, but with the horrible postseasons put in by Grandal and Hernandez, the team definitely needs to be looking to improve those positions.
On the mound, it’s all about what Kershaw does, and to a lesser extent, Ryu. That’s a couple of serious lefties at the top of the rotation to replace. How the Dodgers might do that is anyone’s guess. Is Urias ready to be a starter? Do they think Maeda is a starter going forward? It should be interesting.
Clearly, this team was good enough to win the National League, but not to beat Boston in the World Series. Can they improve for next season?
