Following Up With a Real BCS Playoff

So as I mentioned last week, my idea for a real BCS playoff would take the 10 conference champs and drop them into a playoff format. So, what would that look like this year?

Round 1 – 6 current BCS conference champs get a bye.

Rice at Bowling Green

Louisiana-Lafayette at Utah State

Round 2-

Rice/BG winner at Florida State

Lafayette/USU winner at Auburn

UCF at Michigan State

Baylor at Stanford

Not bad. We might look at that and assume we’d end up in the same place, with FSU and Auburn in the final, but we’d have more football and the potential for some wackiness on the way, and wouldn’t that be more fun? (Not to mention some interesting weather situations!)
