The Freaking Blue Jackets

After blowing a 2 goal lead in the third period, the Islanders lost the shoutout to Columbus, who are now 10-1-4 all time against the Islanders.

As I’ve said before, I used to be a Jackets fan. I lived in Columbus when they started, spent plenty of time at Nationwide Arena, and pulled for them. That was when they were over in the Western Conference. Now that they are in the Islanders division, sorry but rooting for them is rooting against my own teams self interest and I’ve been an Islanders fan much, much longer.

I worried going into the season that I might feel conflicted, but no, tonight’s game made me just as angry as losing to the Rangers would.

As for the Isles, 3 points over the weekend isn’t a bad start, but please quit giving up leads in the third, ok? You can’t be an elite team and keep doing that, and really you had a chance not only at 4 points, but also to not give away the extra points to teams in your division. Put teams away! And please start beating the Blue Jackets, it’s getting embarrassing!

Ok, I’ve got that out of my system. On to the rest of the season.
